The Salt Spring Island Apple Festival is an incredible little community event, attracting about 1500 apple lovers, celebrating the apples (and food) of Salt Spring Island and connecting you with the farms and farmers that produce this very special diversity of tasty, healthy food. Attendees all become SALT SPRING ISLAND APPLE CONNOISSEURS!

  • The event runs 9 to 5 on Sunday, October 4th.
  • The best starting point is Fulford Hall in the south end about 1 km from the Fulford Ferry.
  • People buy a program at Fulford Hall (and also available in the north end outside the Ganges Tourist Info Centre) for $10 (adult), $5 (students) and kids are FREE. This give you the self guided tour of 18 Salt Spring Apple Festival HOST farms to explore, many of which are not normally open to the public (NNOP).
  • There are over 1000 photos from 2014 shown on the website saltspringapplefestival.org. The Apple Pie Ladies, apple ID 
  • apple ID people, orchard bee experts from Be Diverse, local food treasures, incredible art.
  • Lunches prepared by local chefs using local ingredients, that will make you want to clone yourself, so you can eat more of their LUNCH SPECIALS.

In 2014, the Fulford apple display had 300 apple varieties all grown on Salt Spring Island.   You can view a photo of each variety at saltspringapplefestival.org   The apple display will not only take your breath away, the fragrance when you enter the hall will waft you away to a special place.  .
