The GroPoint Profile sensor is designed for vertical insertion and delivers soil moisture and temperature readings every 15 cm, from the surface down to 120 cm. Available in 15, 30, 45, 60, 75, 90 and 120 cm lengths.
At the core is GroPoint’s patented TDT⁵ technology, based on Time Domain Transmissometry (TDT), which measures how long an electronic pulse takes to travel through soil. The wetter the soil, the slower the signal. This transit time links directly to moisture content across a 15 cm radius around the probe.
What makes TDT⁵ unique is its coiled antenna, providing a signal path five times longer than its physical length, enhancing accuracy and stability, even in high-salinity or variable soils. This design is less sensitive to temperature and texture, ensuring reliable, repeatable results. The sensor moisture readings are highly accurate in most soils with factory calibration. In-field calibration is not required, and calibration remains stable indefinitely.
