The first ever Benchtop Screwcapper with the new LUX application head. This new unit is the first of its kind to allow small wineries to use the Stelvin LUX screwcaps.
This will bring the premium look of Stelvin LUX screwcaps to small scale production, it was formerly only available to the largest wineries or those lucky enough to have access to a custom bottler with this capability.
Stelvin LUX screwcaps don’t show the threads or the typical knurling design found on standard screwcaps and thus mimicking the look of a tin capsule finish.
The LUX cap application differs from the standard Stelvin screwcap application in that it is a 2-part system. The threads on the LUX cap are a molded component on the interior of the cap as opposed to being molded by the capping head onto the threads on the bottle. Therefore the LUX cap needs to be spun onto the bottle to create the seal and then the skirt must be “tucked under” the pilfer-proof lip on the bottle to allow the bottom half of the cap to stay on the bottle when the cap is twisted off. This was previously only able to be done with 2 separate application heads in series, one for each part of the application. With the invention of the new “Extreme” single LUX screwcapping head, Tecnomax Due out of Northern Italy, was able to apply the new technology to the benchtop market and bring the premium look of Stelvin LUX screwcaps to small scale production.
