BC Agriculture Council (BCAC) is thrilled to be welcoming back its premier industry networking event in person for the first time in three years - and it’s going to look a little different. To ensure our guests are aware of the changes to the event and know what to expect in advance of the evening, please read on.
As expected, the event will welcome over 500 farmers, ranchers, and supporters from across the province to celebrate the agriculture sector in British Columbia (B.C.).
Hosted at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Centre on January 25, 2023, in Abbotsford, B.C., the event is aimed at enhancing guest experience and opportunities to mingle. These enhancements include:
- Live entertainment (during networking times only),
- Additional beverage stations,Interactive (live) and stationary food stations which will include a wide selection of menu-tasting options, including the highly sought-after cheese table,
- A reduced number of tables in the room to allow more space for moving around and networking,
- A reduced number of seats around the tables from ten to eight,
- No sit-down dinner to allow more time for networking, and
- Silent auction items throughout the entire event floor rather than in one room.
As in previous years, the evening will feature an address from the Minster of Agriculture and Food and from BC Agriculture Council President, Stan Vander Waal. The program will also include its Champion, and BCAC Leadership awards presentation, recognizing British Columbians who have made significant contributions to agriculture in B.C.
BCAC is also pleased to be donating the proceeds from the silent auction to BC Young Farmers to further support their development opportunities as a group and to build their profile with food system stakeholders. The annual online silent auction will open for bidding on January 18th, 2023, and closes at 9:00 p.m. on January 25th, 2023.
