CanadaGAP is now accepting nominations for its Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), calling on professionals with experience in food safety and fresh produce handling to help shape the future of its national program.
The TAC plays a central role in guiding updates to the CanadaGAP food safety manuals and audit protocols. The committee’s purpose is to provide technical expertise to the CanAgPlus board of directors on proposed changes that could impact the program’s requirements.
Each year, between six and nine members are appointed to the committee, along with a chair. Committee members serve one- or two-year terms, depending on the decision of the board.
Applicants should have proven food safety expertise in fresh fruit production and handling, from packing and storage to repacking and wholesale. Broad experience across fruit operations is valued, along with knowledge of specific crops such as small fruit, tree fruit and grapes.
Nominations are open to individuals from across Canada and are not limited to those affiliated with grower associations or regional organizations. Appointments are made based on individual merit and expertise, not affiliation.
Nominations must be received in writing by November 15, 2025, and should be sent to info@canadagap.ca. For further information, contact the CanadaGAP office at 613-829-4711 or visit canadagap.ca
