The federal and provincial governments are offering up to $50,000 to help food producers promote their products around the world.
The Investment Agriculture Foundation will administer a $600,000 fund to help increase export sales and expand access to international markets. The funding is provided through Agriculture and Agrifood Canada, and the BC Ministry of Agriculture.
The funding package is for any producer of agricultural foods or seafoods that are processed and packaged in BC. As well, the product must be made with more than 85 per cent of the main ingredients produced in BC. For example, a fruit juice or wine made with BC fruits or grapes would qualify.
The fund will provide up to $50,000 on a first-come, first-serve basis, to be used for international tradeshows, promotional events, and creating marketing materials.
