Indigenous World is the newest winery to open on Kelowna's Westside, joining the Westside Wine Trail. Upon opening at the end of May, the winery has moved quickly to unveil a tasting room and the Red Fox Club bistro, alongside a gift shop and picnic area. With plans for intriguing expansion projects, Indigenous World is the passion project of Westbank First Nation’s Chief Robert Louie, and his wife Bernice.

Modern culture merges with Indigenous history throughout the property, from the carefully curated First Nations’ artworks (many of which are from the Louie’s private collection) to the Red Fox Club’s Aboriginally-inspired food that uses local greenhouses, farms, cheese makers and other purveyors from the Okanagan Valley.
As descendants of the Okanagan Syilx people, who’ve lived on and protected these lands for thousands of years, Chief Robert Louie and Bernice are connected to the land and its rich history. This respect and connection bodes well for Indigenous World’s multiple-award winning wines.
Producing vintages from 2012 onward, Indigenous World most recently won Double-Gold and Gold for the Hee-Hee-Tel-Kin and Simo Red Blends at San Francisco International Wine Competition, as well as Gold for the 2015 Gewürztraminer at the All Canadian Wine Championships.
