KELOWNA, B.C. – The grower members voted for four new faces to sit on the Board of Directors.
The BC Tree Fruits Cooperative membership met for their Annual General Meeting on October 27th in Peachland. The AGM is an opportunity for the membership, 217 voting members who attended this year, to review the previous season and to elect the Board Directors for the upcoming season. The primary role of the Board of Directors is to provide direction for the Cooperative.
They will join the current six: Jeet Dukhia, Steve Day and Karmjit Gill from the North and Joginder Khosa, Talwinder Bassi and Mohinder Dhaliwal from the South. In the North, the members voted for Sam DiMaria and Amarjit Lalli while in the South, Steve Brown and Harbhajan Sidhu were voted in.
The Cooperative and its growers acknowledge and thank all outgoing directors for their countless hours and contributions to the Cooperative. In addition, a special thank you to outgoing Director and President Malcolm Mitchell for his years of dedication and service to the Cooperative and the industry.
The Board of Directors will meet shortly where a new President and two Vice Presidents (one from each region) will be appointed.
