The laser can be programmed to run up to 16 different programs, each running through a series of up to 100 waypoints. In most cases the Autonomic laser decreases crop losses by 70% - 90%, paying for itself in the first or second year of operation.
Why do the lasers work so well? Bird’s eyes work differently than human eyes. They see the full beam of light, just like humans do if the laser was operating in fog. So, for the bird, it’s perceived as a physical threat coming towards them as it moves through the field.
