The BC Wine Institute (BCWI) invites you to attend the 2020 BCWI Industry Recognition Awards Virtual Ceremony on Wednesday, December 16, 2020. The annual recognition awards recognize two recipients including one non-winery and one winery representative for their outstanding achievements and contributions to the BC wine industry. Following a challenging year, it is more important than ever to recognize our industry peers and commend them on their passion, determination and perseverance.
This year’s recipients are:
BCWI Industry Recognition Award
Tim Pawsey, wine and food writer, hiredbelly.com. Tim was nominated for his support of the BC wine industry and his devotion to increasing the awareness and appreciation of local wines. Established in 2013, the Industry Recognition Award honours a non-winery industry individual, business or organization for support of the BC wine industry and BC VQA Wine through media, research, policy, regulation, education, advocacy or other means significantly contributing to the overall strength and long-term viability of the industry
BCWI Award of Distinction
Robert Smith, Director of Sales for Hester Creek Winery. Robert was nominated for his passion for selling BC VQA Wine, and his countless hours of volunteering to promote British Columbia’s world-class wines. Established in 2016, the Award of Distinction, recognizes a winery representative for their outstanding leadership, commitment and passion for the advancement of the British Columbia wine industry.
This year’s virtual ceremony will also include a keynote address from best-selling author and Canada's most respected and prolific wine writer, John Schreiner.
