All equipment regardless of brand requires at minimum an annual filter change, regardless of the hours of usage.

  • Oil filters deteriorate when immersed in oil for long periods of time.
  • Due to natural levels of humidity in the air all oils in your equipment are subject to water condensing out of the air and into the oil causing it to eventually become saturated with water molecules, so, when you can actually see the oil turning cream colored it is at the point of severe over saturation, the oil should never be allowed to get to that state, it is very damaging to all components as it has lost all of its ability to lubricate.
  • Most transmission oils have the capability of suspending some water contamination, dirt from outside sources as well as contaminants from its own hydraulic systems pumps, valves, cylinders and transmission gears, so it is vital that your transmission and hydraulic systems get a regular filter change and an oil change at the recommended interval. If you do not use the equipment enough during the year to reach the recommended hour usage interval then you should at least change just the filters.
  • Pins and bushings and other parts exposed to the elements will rust during the idle times so when it comes time to use the equipment it may have seized up on you, so before it is put away for the winter it should be well greased.
