Australian-based wine technology company, Flexcube, has appointed its first Canadian agent, Cal Craik.
Flexcube manufactures polyethylene wine barrels and markets them internationally with top-quality French oak.
Craik, will have specific responsibility for British Columbia and will be based in BC's celebrated Okanagan Valley winemaking region.
For the past 16 years, Cal Craik was general manager and a co-owner of Okanagan Barrel Works, which was the largest commercial cooperage in Canada, making new oak barrels and tanks and providing repair services to wineries in BC, Ontario, Washington and Oregon.
Mr Craik's experience in diverse aspects of the beverage alcohol industry exceeds 25 years and has covered practically all facets of the business.
Flexcube managing director Mr Peter Steer said Mr Craik would add significant value to the company's North American business.
"Cal's experience in the wine industry - particularly barrels - is extensive and at senior levels. He will be an important contributor to Flexcube's growth."
